# 2 - Pan American Highway to Grecia- Sarchí - BOSQUE DE PAZ LODGE.
The driving directions from the International Juan Santamaria Airport to Bosque de Paz Lodge are the following: In front of the International Airport you will find the Pan-American Highway. You start driving north on this highway until you reach the exit to the town of Grecia on the right side. You take this exit and drive through Grecia towards the town of Sarchi . About a mile before reaching the main plaza at Sarchi, you will find a large souvenir store complex on the left side of the road. There you will see a big sign painted on a multicolour oxcart wheel. This store is called Chaverri souvenirs.
After driving beside this shop that main road will start curving to the right about a block away from the store, and about 100 yards after Chaverris store, you must take the first street to the right, and then the first street to the left.
This is the road that takes you to the town of La Luisa, and the village of Bajos del Toro Amarillo, which is the village adjacent to the preserve. You take the road to the left on this junction and continue driving though this road for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the preserve.
You continue driving on this road, which starts winding up through the mountains until you reach the highest point, which is the Continental Divide.
Then you start descending through the narrow winding road down the mountain into the Caribbean slope of the country. Soon you will notice the small village of Toro Amarillo at the foot of the mountains. When you reach the flat area after the mountain, before entering the village , you will notice a small gravel road to the left side of the road.
Please honk, and our gatekeeper will welcome you. Good Luck! |
